눈앞에 무언가 많이 떠다니는 증상을 비문증이라고 합니다. 우리나라말로는 날파리증이라고 하구요.
원래 30-40대 중년에 접어들면서 눈 속 유리체 부분이 액화가 되면서 망막과 유착이 분리되는 과정에 발생하는 증세입니다.
다만 근시가 많아서 안축장이 긴 분들의 경우는 10대 후반, 20대 초반에서도 발생하는 경우가 종종 있답니다.
비문증이 발생하면 우선 안저검사나 안저촬영을 통해 주변부 안저를 확인하구요, 망막 열공이나 격자형 망막변성 등 망막이 얇아서 구멍이 나는 질환이 있는지 찾게됩니다.
망막질환 동반이 없는 비문증 증세는 경과관찰을 권유드리며, 만약 망막질환이 동반된 비문증의 경우에는 망막레이저광응고술을 바로 시행하게 됩니다.
레이저시술을 한다고 비문증이 바로 사라지는 것은 아니고 사이즈가 작은 경우는 나중에 흡수가 되지만, 큰 경우는 뇌가 적응을 하게되는 neuroadaptation을 기다려 증세가 호전되기도 합니다.
특히나 비문증의 갯수가 갑자기 늘어나는 경우는 망막문제를 시사하는 바가 크므로 빠른 검사가 필요할 것으로 판단됩니다.
